Chelmsford will be merry and bright when the city has its first ever virtual Christmas lights switch on.

Previous years would have seen crowds of people in the Chelmsford City Centre to watch the annual Christmas light switch on. No doubt today will be different from previous years.

However due to COVID restrictions, Chelmsford For You has come up with creative ways to make sure people can come together and celebrate the season safely.

The event will kick off with celebrating and sharing stories of CM1STMAS Community heroes as well as hearing from local businesses who went above and beyond this year to keep the community moving followed by the Christmas light switch on.
