Bookings
Can I book a minibus via the app or web?
Yes, you can. However, we cannot guarantee that you will receive one immediately due to limited availability. Therefore, it is recommended that you always either pre-book one/two hours in advance or call our booking centre to make a booking.
Can I book my journey via email?
We are unable to accept bookings via email, however, you can book via our call centre, our mobile app and on our website.
Can you deliver shopping to our house?
We are happy to collect a passenger who wants to go shopping, wait and then bring them home. However, we are unable to offer a personal shopping facility.
Do you cover long distance journeys?
We are happy to provide taxis for any distance in the UK Mainland. Please call our booking line or email booking@happicabs.com for a quote. If you’re emailing us, please be specific with pick-up and drop-off address post codes including the number of passengers, the date and time of your journey.
Do you offer wedding guest transport?
Yes we do, we specialise in wedding transport. Please email booking@happicabs.com for a quote. In your email you will need to include the date and time of each vehicle that you require. The pick-up and drop-off location with any additional stops you may have, and the total number of passengers that require transporting.

Do your taxi fares increase after 11pm and bank holidays in Chelmsford, Maldon, South Woodham Ferrers amd Witham?
Yes our fares increase by 50% after 11pm Monday to Sunday until 6am, and on Bank Holidays fares are increased by 50% throughout the day and night.
How can I book a taxi for more than 4 people?
You can book via the app, web or telephone. We recommend that you call us for instant bookings to get an accurate availability time. If you’re pre-booking at least two hours in advance, we recommend that you use the app or the web to book.
What are your opening times?
We are open 24/7, 365 days a year.
How much notice do you need for a pickup from the Airport?
If you’re travelling from postal codes CM1, CM2, CM3, CM4, CM8, and CM9 we recommend that you allow at least 4 hours before check-in closes for Stansted and Southend Airport. At least 5 hours before check-in closes for Heathrow, Gatwick, London City and Luton Airport. This is to ensure that you arrive in comfort and on-time. If you wish to choose your own time, this is not an issue however Happicabs will not be liable for timings chosen by the customer.
How will we know your driver at the airport?
Our driver will make contact with you on arrival and will arrange a suitable meeting point with you at the point of collection.

Can I open a Corporate Account with Happicabs?
We are able to offer credit terms for most businesses that wish to open an account (subject to credit checks). Please see our Accounts page for further details.
Can I open a Personal Account with Happicabs?
We no longer offer this facility. However, you can book via the App or Web and pay by debit or credit card every time you book. Download the App or Book Online.
Do you allow pets in your taxis?
Our taxis will carry all pets as long as they are in a secure carrier. The only exception is assistance dogs who are allowed in all our vehicles.

Do you have Wheelchair Accessible Taxis?
Yes, we do. We do require notice in advance preferably 2 hours in advance to ensure a driver with the appropriate vehicle is available for your journey.
Do you provide car seats?
By law, taxis are not required to have car seats fitted for babies and children. However, customers are welcome to provide and fit/remove their own in the taxi. For Airport Transfers, we charge a small fee for storage whilst you’re away and on your return trip, we bring back the child seat.
Do you transport children travelling alone?
We advise that the minimum age for a child travelling on their own is 10 years old.
I’m moving from my student accommodation. Can Happicabs help with this?
Our taxis can only transport people and are unfortunately not designed to carry large amounts of goods. There are many removal companies in Essex that are reasonably priced and would be happy to help.
Will you transport bicycles?
Unfortunately, our taxis are not equipped to securely transport any large items such as bicycles.
Are you a licensed Taxi and Private Hire Company?
Yes, we are a licensed Taxi and Private Hire Company. We are licensed to operate Taxis, Hackney Carriage Vehicles, Minicabs and Private Hire Vehicles. We are an operators license holder with Chelmsford City Council, Maldon District Council, Uttlesford District Council and Wolverhampton City Council. All our Drivers are approved by their local authority and police checked. All vehicles are fully licensed, insured for hire and reward and regularly inspected to ensure that they’re safe for hire and reward use.

Can you provide me with a VAT receipt?
Unless you have a corporate account with Happicabs, you will not have been charged VAT.
How do I get a refund for a pre-paid journey that I have had to cancel?
