The Government has recently announced a second national lockdown in Essex and the rest of England, starting Thursday 5th November. We understand that a lot of people will be feeling worried and anxious. Happicabs would like to reassure you that we are still be operating as normal within Chelmsford, Maldon, Witham and South Woodham Ferrers. We follow strict safety measures and safe working practices. You will continue to be able to book taxis 24/7 through our app, web and phone.

We have taken significant steps to protect our customers, drivers and office staff during the COVID-19 outbreak:

Drivers and customers

• Drivers are provided with PPE.
• Hand sanitiser available for customers and drivers in all vehicles.
• Passengers in taxis and private hire vehicles are required by law to wear face coverings. We would expect our customers to wear a face covering if they are not exempt.  

Vehicles

• All our vehicles have been fitted with safety screens.  
• Our vehicles are disinfected and sanitised after every trip, ensuring safe travel.
• Regular use of the anti-viral disinfectant fogging machine which kills 99.99% of germs and viruses.
• The number of passengers is limited per vehicle size to practice social distancing.
• Our COVID-19 safety signs serve as a friendly reminder of the rules that drivers and passengers must follow to stay safe.

Office

• Most of our office staff work from home where possible.
• Number of people in building is restricted and social distance is maintained.
• We have a range of PPE items including hand sanitisers and disinfectant wipes for staff and visitors.
• Safety signs displayed at all entry points inside office.
• Frequent cleaning of objects and surfaces that are touched regularly including door handles and keyboards.
