Terms and Conditions

Smoking is not permitted in our vehicles.
Some journeys we may ask for deposits or money up front, if this process is not successful we have the right to cancel the journey.
Any abuse to our drivers or unacceptable behaviour or driver feels in risk the driver has the right to ask the passengers to leave the vehicle.
Any abuse to our vehicles, our standard charge is £100 additional charges will be made to cover the costs.
A standard journey is from one address to another, any additional pick ups and drops off will be charged for.
All Toll charges and London Congestion charges are charged separately unless stated or told so.
We have the right to cancel any booking at any time.
Happicabs does not accept any responsibility in the way for missing flights for whatever reason. I.e. Traffic delays, accidents, severe weather conditions, breakdown or any other unforeseen circumstances.
Waiting time will be charged when we are requested to wait over and above any appointed departure time by the client. We charge £20 p/h and a minimum charge of £10.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have taken all your personal belongings from the vehicle. If the driver has to make another journey to return these belongings this will be charged for at a full price.
All journeys are pre-fixed, if you have a particular route in mind which you want the driver to use, please tell the driver before the start of the journey.
If you order a taxi from Maldon into another town and then want to proceed your journey into another destination not in Maldon, we have the right to charge you extra if we provide this service. For example, you want to be picked up from Great Totham and taken to Chelmsford, we would charge you a small fixed rate to leave Maldon, pick you up from Great Totham and take you to Chelmsford. We charge double than normal quoted fare on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year Eve and New Years Day.

BOOKING CANCELLATIONS

Please give us as much notice as possible by telephone when cancelling your booking, for out of Maldon pickup you must notify us well in-advance. Failure to do so, we reserve the right to charge you the full amount or at least 50 percent of the fare. This will be decided at the time of the cancellation. Our minimum booking cancellation time is two hours. If you have any questions, please contact us by telephone 01621 883883.

For card booking: A fee of £5.00 will be deducted for any pre-paid transfers which are cancelled.
For cash booking : There will be no charges applicable if the cancellation is done within 12 hours of the pick-up time.
If cancellation is made 4 hours before departure, an invoice to pay will be sent to the passenger.
If the cancellation is made more than 4 hours before departure, no cancellation will be applied.
Cancellation of group or special event cancellations made 5 days or more prior to date of reservation, 75% will be refunded.
After the time limit for cancellation has passed, the full fare for the booking will be charged.
If the booking is rescheduled either before or after, the fare may be recalculated and again a revised email will be sent to the client.
A cancellation fee will not be applicable to passenger if the driver is delayed by more than 20 minutes.

How to cancel a booking

If you have made the booking by telephone, you will need to call to cancel your booking.
If you have made a booking via the app or web, you can either cancel via the app or call us.

Refunds

A full refund of pre-paid reservation will be made only:

Any paid journey you wish to cancel in advance will be given a refund, provided the cancellation is more than 12 hours before the booking. All cancellations are subject to minimum fee of £5.00
For reservations cancelled less than 4 hours only 25% will be refunded.
Refunds will be submitted electronically and the funds repaid to the card used to pay for the journey. Refunds will normally take 3-5 working days to be processed.
No refunds will be given if the journey is terminated part way through the hire.
Any cancellations made later than 6 hours that will not be refunded.
No refunds will be given if the passenger books the taxi for a wrong date, wrong flight number and other misleading information.

Changes at Time of Pick-up or Late Arrival

If at the time of collection you wish to switch a car (e.g. larger car) required a space for extra luggage, additional charges will be applied which may be at a higher rate than those previously quoted.
The waiting time and non-attendance fees will be charged to the client in accordance with the applicable taxi fare regulations.

No Show Fees

If you fail to cancel your reservation prior to the pickup time and do not show up on the pickup date, we reserve the right to make a no-show fee where none of the amount will be refunded.

Billing

Additional charges will be itemized on the customer's billing statement when applicable (e.g. tolls, parking, airport and regulatory fees, fuel surcharge, out of area fees etc.)
All published rates are subject to change without notice.
Applicable taxes will be charged as required.

Exceptional Situations

In any of exceptional situations in case of client, Happicabs reserves the right to cancel bookings. Any charges already paid shall be refunded in this case. No claim for damages and no further claims shall exist.
If an inevitable event occurs such as the vehicle stops working, Happicabs reserves the right to use the next best replacement vehicle.

PAYMENT

Payments can be made by cash, debit and credit cards only and we no longer accept cheques. We have the right to ask for payment before the booking has taken place or at the start of your journey.

All content on this website (including all website design, text, graphics, underlying source code and content management system) is copyright Happicabs unless otherwise stated. Visitors must not copy, distribute or publish any materials from this website. Without affecting our own or third party rights under copyright, you are not permitted to copy, alter or reproduce content for commercial purposes and must credit Happicabs at all times. Any other use of Happicabs copyright material requires the formal written permission of Happicabs.

While we have taken care to compile accurate information and keep it up to date, we cannot guarantee its correctness and completeness. PRIVACY

The personal and contact information you give us for booking purposes, we only use it for our booking purposes to get in touch with you if we have any problems. We do not use your information for sending advertisements through the post or email. We do not pass your information onto third party companies or people. We keep your booking or quote record for up to 28 days once your booking is complete and your details are destroyed thereafter.

Click & Collect service is only available from Supermarkets, Retailers and Pharmacies that offer the click & collect service within the CM1, CM2, CM3, CM8 and CM9 district.
Bookings to be made by telephone only. App, Web and Email bookings for delivery service are not accepted.
All fares are fixed priced for under 70’s and payment will only be accepted by card.
Over 70’s receive the click & collect service for free.You must be able to provide a proof of age to the driver upon request.
Supermarket slots that are rescheduled and not notified to the company will result in 0% refund.
You must notify Pharmacy that a collection is being made on your behalf first before booking a taxi. Upon making a booking, our call centre agents will ask you to provide your full name, date of birth and address for prescription collection. Once Taxi is booked, you must notify the pharmacy that a taxi driver is coming to collect prescription from Happicabs.
For parcel delivery or collection the company takes no responsibility for damages whilst in transit.
We may take photographs to post on our social media in order to show how we love and care for our community.
This Click & Collect delivery offer is valid for a limited time only and can end at any time. We will keep you informed of any changes through our social media.
The Click & Collect delivery service is subject to availability.
We do not offer a personal shopping service of any kind and we cannot purchase cigarettes, alcohol and any other products on behalf of our customers.
Drivers will only drop your shopping to your front door and knock to notify you that your shopping has arrived. Please ensure you are indoors and ready for collection.

20% Discount for healthcare workers

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Healthcare workers working for the NHS and Care Homes will receive 20% off all fares with Happicabs in Chelmsford, Witham, Maldon and South Woodham Ferrers. All fares will be fixed and the discounted rate will be quoted to you at the point of booking.

You may use this discount to travel to and from a place of work, supermarkets, schools and anywhere else you need to be.

To obtain discount, healthcare workers must book by telephone with the nearest branch and make the operator aware of their healthcare worker status. At the end of the journey, the driver will request to see your identity card. This must be presented to receive discount.

Discount is not valid on airport fares, car park, toll, congestion, ULEZ charges and any additional charges.

The company has the right to end this promotional discount at any point with no notice. This discount is only for healthcare workers, this discount cannot be passed onto families and friends who are not working as a healthcare worker.

SERVICE CHARGES

For under 70s there is a charge for the delivery service. Please see our tariff guide. The mileage is calculated from the supermarket to your home address. We cover a maximum delivery distance of 7.5 miles for our Chelmsford and SWF branch. For Witham and Maldon, the maximum distance is within 10 miles.
