Transport Operations Manager
We have an excellent opportunity for a Transport Operations Manager within our Taxi Transportation business based in Chelmsford, Essex.
Happicabs has been serving the Essex community with taxi and private hire services for over 50 years. The company has been expanding its operations within Essex and are seeking for a Transport Operations Manager to support our expansion strategy and business development plans.
This role is being offered on a permanent basis employed by the company. This is an office based position located in Writtle, Chelmsford CM1 3ST.
· You will work closely with the call centre team and office manager to ensure quality control and help the business grow and develop.
· Support with planning and scheduling (organisation of driver shifts and vehicles).
· Fleet Management (with support of fleet mechanic, arranging routine maintenance, ensuring vehicles are inspected, manage repairs and all associated paperwork)
· Organising and maintaining the efficiency of the entire business transport service.
· Communicating with vehicle drivers and ensuring they’re kept up to date with relevant documentation, training and qualifications.
· Dealing with any concerns or complaints with a view to resolution
· Dealing with matters relating to compliance, insurance and legal matters
· Utilises network and relationships to grow sales in both projects and recurring long-term contracts.
· Management of the day-to-day running of the Happicabs team.
· Ensure all leads, emails and queries are responded to and dealt with in a timely and accurate manner.
· Identify training and development of staff and provide appropriate training as required.
· Support office manager with duties including managing rotas and holidays.
· Ensure service levels and KPI’s are met.
· Reporting to Directors.
· Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and neat work area.
· Other duties as assigned by Director.
The ideal candidate will be someone with experience in a fast paced environment. Previous managerial experience in transportation/logistics industry is desirable.
40 hours a week working day, night and weekend shifts. We are a 24/7 business therefore applicants must be available to work shifts as per business needs.
£30,000 to £35,000 per annum dependent on experience.
Laptop, mobile & fuel allowance for business travel.Company pension and free on-site parking.
